Term 1 Sewing Classes (Ages 8–14)
8-week Course
Our sewing classes are the perfect introduction to sewing for young makers aged 8–14. Over the eight weeks, students will learn the fundamentals of using a sewing machine in a safe, supportive, and creative environment.
Participants will build confidence as they explore:
- Sewing machine basics and safe operation
- Threads, needles, and understanding different fabrics
- Cutting, pinning, and simple construction techniques
- Pattern use and garment construction
In Term 1, 2026, students will put their new skills into practice by creating a Teddy Bear Pillow — a fun, cuddly project they’ll be proud to take home. This project encourages creativity, problem-solving, and patience while reinforcing essential sewing skills.
In Term 2, 2026, students will create their own cozy coat or vest using fabric from our amazing collection. Designed for comfort and movement – running, jumping, spinning, and dancing. Each piece will be made with fabrics chosen by the maker, making it truly unique to them.
Newer students will be supported every step of the way, while those feeling more adventurous can have fun customising their design and adding personal touches.
No prior sewing experience is needed. All materials are provided, and classes are taught by experienced tutors who love nurturing curiosity and confidence.
